divorce160x160You are driving down the freeway at 65 and things are pretty normal.  The kids are fighting in the back seat expressing the great offense that has just occurred in their life, “He’s looking at me!”

Traffic is a little heavier than normal but not a problem.  You are thinking about the project that has yet to be completed, has a dead line and all of a sudden it happens.

“BANG”

the front passenger side tire blows out!  The car lunges to the right and you fight to keep it from swerving into oncoming traffic.  The kids are now screaming and you are trying to get the car to the side of the road without any injury to anyone. Read more

Healing from the wounds of divorce – Bitterness

couple150x150As a pastor one of my greatest pleasures in the ministry is to dedicate babies.  Families go all out for this special occasion with dolling up Jr. in some really cool duds and Grandpa, Grandma, Aunts, Uncles, and all other relatives possible, are in attendance for the great occasion.

I love to hold the baby up and show off the newest member of the church to the rest of the congregation and the sanctuary is filled with ooohs and Awhhs as the child is presented. Read more

Loneliness150x150I will never forget visiting the Carlsbad Caverns and seeing the incredible labyrinth of underground shafts with all the wonders of this world many years ago. Stalagmites and stalactites all being formed from thousands of years of calcium deposits being left silently in place and the power of the earth revealing itself in this hidden world. We signed up for a tour and the guide took us deeper and deeper into the cave and explaining what we were seeing and how everything was formed. Read more
